Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Explain why are Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) a significant issue in many American Indian and Alaska Native tribal communities.
-Name 8 environmental modifications and practices to be implemented across the settings for where NAS children are, including the home, the early childhood program, and other settings where the child spends time.
-Name five recommended strategies for tribal and community leaders to support children affected by alcohol and substance exposure.
-Name three factors that are needed in order to build organizational cultural competence in order to have responsiveness in programs and systems.
